OpFlow optimizes surgical supply chains by integrating your usage data with our benchmarks:

  • Rationalize and consolidate hospital-owned trays

  • Manage metrics to lower cost of sterilization and storage of vendor-owned trays

  • Optimize utilization of high dollar supplies via OpFlow standardized procedure benchmarks

Hospital Owned

Trays

Rationalization - Consolidation - Inventory Reduction

OpFlow targets large, frequently used trays for optimization within designated service lines. OpFlow collects usage data on all trays used for commonly performed cases within the service line to create the most efficient, streamlined configurations.

Vendor Owned Trays

Utilization - Rationalization - Inventory Management

OpFlow tracks which vendor trays are pulled, opened, and used for a case, and collects actual usage data for both instrument and implant trays.

Procedure-based standards stratified by vendor are generated to reduce the number of trays brought to the case, therefore lowering sterilization costs. Visibility to vendor tray usage identifies areas for improvement and optimization that can lower overall case cost.

Supplies

Usage analysis - Benchmark analytics

Variability of preference cards for the same procedure makes surgical supply optimization difficult to manage. OpFlow’s benchmarks identify high-cost supplies and provide an average quantity used for commonly performed procedures across hospital locations. Benchmark data, along with actual usage by surgeon and case, enables hospitals to optimize the quantities on each preference card and accurately allocate items.

The OpFlow success goes coast-to-coast! Loma Linda University Medical Center just completed phase 1 of OpFlow Instrument Tray Optimization with a total reduction of over 4,000 instruments!

The team at OpFlow exceeded our expectations! We were able to remove 7,500 instruments with an average reduction percentage of 31%. This will lead to almost 500,000 fewer instrument sterilization cycles annually, saving over 2,300 hours of sterile processing labor."

Outstanding success from a 12-month implementation at UNC Rex Hospital across all major surgical service lines with a total reduction of almost 18,000 instruments!
