Prospective Evaluation of Operating Room Inefficiency

This study demonstrates the significant potential cost savings possible by reducing turnover time between procedures. Improving insight into the surgical plan and providing a unified communication platform on which the surgeon and OR team can rapidly communicate makes realization of these cost savings possible.

The authors of this publication have proven the concept through manual collection of the data in a prospective manner. Automated collection of accurate data that generate actionable analytics will enable rapid implementation of improvement to the perioperative process:

• Increase on-time starts

• Reduce expense of minutes wasted between cases and intraoperatively

• Provide time to perform more procedures within a day

• Decrease costs related to personnel overtime expenses

Collectively, those factors will contribute dramatic value to the hospital and healthcare system bottom line.
